    LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN'S SERVICES, DAVIDSON COUNTY

    This is a DCS Program Specialist position for the Federal Programs division of the Central Office Operations team. This position is currently located in Davidson County but can potentially sit in any county across the state.

    This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to three years of professional work in one or a combination of the following: counseling or case management services; program evaluation of counseling or case management services, two years of which must involve providing these services to children and/or juveniles.

    Substitution of Education for Experience: Graduate course work credit received from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, human services, and/or child development may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of one year, there being no substitution for the required two years of children's services work (e.g. 36 graduate quarter hours in one or a combination of the above listed fields may substitute for one year of the required experience).

    Overview

    The Program Specialist for the Tennessee Children¿s First! Review (TCFR) Program is responsible for managing the review case sampling process and serving as an advanced-level case reviewer.

    Responsibilities

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Interviewing children and youth, family members, and internal and external partners across the state using the TCFR interview guide.
    • Reviewing case file data within the TFACTS/C-First system.
    • Documenting findings and rating assigned cases in the TCFR data collection site.
    • Providing strengths-based feedback to Caseworkers and Supervisors on each case reviewed.
    • Providing training on the DCS Practice Model and best practices to DCS staff involved in the TCFR process.
    • Recruiting new TCFR Reviewers from internal and external partners.
    • Coaching and mentoring new TCFR Reviewers.
    • Serving as a subject matter expert in the TCFR and Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) processes.
    • Participating in Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Act (CARA) reviews as assigned.
    • Following the CARA review guidelines and using the designated review tools for this program.
    • Participating in other case review processes as assigned by the Executive Director for Federal Programs and/or DCS Commissioner.

    TN Driver Standards
