General Summary:

Reporting to the Community Programs Manager, the Residential Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the Youth Development Specialist within all DCFS program sites at The Harbour. The Residential Supervisor will ensure that each site and Youth Development Specialist is functioning within the larger Programmatic structure and that safety concerns are being addressed, and programmatic achievements are being attained by staff and youth.

Leadership:

· Supports the Director of Operations in the hiring process by ensuring that new staff are scheduled for and given on-the-job training.

· Develop and maintain positive relationships with YDS staff, Therapeutic Case Managers, Management Team and all colleagues.

· Model Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and provide crisis support as needed during regular scheduled hours and while on-call.

· Coach, monitor and develop YDS staff to implement individual youth plans of independence for positive outcome post-discharge.

· Participates as a member of the CQI team to evaluate outcomes quarterly; implements improvements related to YDS staff to promote positive outcomes

· Participate as a direct support to the YDS team when coverage is required and/or when additional support is necessary within a TLP setting.

· Provides on-call support on a rotating basis with Residential Supervisory Team.

Team Management:

· Chairs the bi-weekly YDS house/ group supervision meetings for assigned sites.

· Provides and documents, individual supervision to Full, Part-Time, and Relief Youth Development Specialists.

· Monitors YDS compliance with all personnel requirements (training, documentation, medicals).

· Assists in the completion of 90-day and yearly performance evaluations for staff.

· Encourages development of Youth Development Specialists through continued learning opportunities and required training.

· Participate as a direct support to the YDS team when coverage is required and/or when additional support is necessary within a TLP setting.

· Addresses call-offs and no-shows while on-call and seeks coverage for sites.

· Manage Team's timekeeping in ADP system.

Youth Development:

· Participates as the Residential Representative at intake interviews, quarterly youth meetings and when changes to the Launch/Discharge/Emancipation plans are made or as needed.

· Monitor basic needs of youth to ensure that YDS are facilitating appointments for routine medical, dental and prescription refills.

· Ensures that the YDS team has developed and implemented weekly life skills groups in the sites.

Documentation:

· Ensure proper levels of forms in the house and check all documentation for accuracy and completion and distribution as required (e.g. sign in sheets, medication logs, intake packets, etc.)

· Ensure that all client information in the client binders is current and filed accordingly for YDS use in implementing activities of daily living for goal attainment.

· Ensure that YDS complete weekly schedules, menus and monthly budgets with the youth.

Facilities Supervision:

· Works with the Facilities Coordinator (or as needed), to ensure the appropriate level of inventory of necessary weekly house staples, cleaning supplies and PPE.

· Maintains compliance with DCFS Licensing Standards and Fire Marshall code including monthly fire/tornado drills as well as any lease requirements.

· Monitors TLP sites for cleanliness and proper furnishings and addresses observable hazards, reporting these hazards immediately to Facilities Coordinator.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· BA, BS, or BSW in human service field.

· Two years' residential experience required.

· Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

· Valid Illinois Driver's license, reliable automobile, and automobile insurance.

· Operate office equipment: Copier machine, Cellphone, computer/tablet.

· Be able to lift 20 lbs. And walk up and down stairs a minimum of 20 times in one shift.

· Write comprehensive supervision notes.

· Computer knowledge required (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft TEAMS, Outlook)
