    GENERAL PURPOSE

    Supervises activities of regular associates and temporary workers. Assesses production schedules and man-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Interprets company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence. Enforces safety regulations. Evaluates and assesses production methods, performances and efficiency for improvements and/or changes. Prepares associate performance evaluations and assists in the administration of reviews. Determines time and production standards and maintains records. Must have a "can-do", "make-it-happen" attitude. This is demonstrated by displaying the ability to use perseverance and initiative in order to ensure top performance, quality and service to our stores. Responsible for developing and maintaining an open, engaging labor relation's environment which remains issue free.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manages an hourly team to ensure the timely and accurate processing and distribution of merchandise to stores.

    • Uses the MAP (Managing Associate Performance) process to train, assess, motivate, coach, and evaluate associates across all job functions using established methods and standards.

    • Ensures the rapid and accurate movement and processing of merchandise through engineered methods and operational standards.

    • Organizes and prioritizes daily work orders and staffing requirements to achieve production goals.

    • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of work performed by all assigned Ross and temporary associates.

    • Creates and maintains an effective team culture that recognizes individual and team performance while fostering a positive, issue-free work environment.

    • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with Area Supervisors, DC Merchandise Managers, and Human Resources.

    • Conducts daily huddle meetings to communicate key updates, priorities, and operational objectives.

    • Facilitates associate training and meetings on topics including safety, human resources, new process orientation, and other business-related subjects as needed.

    • Enforces company policies and safety regulations, providing appropriate corrective and recognition-based actions to promote safe work behaviors.

    • Conducts performance-related disciplinary meetings in compliance with company policies and procedures, including managing the separation process for terminated associates.

    • Manages all administrative tasks and functions within the assigned area.

    • Conducts applicant interviews and makes hiring recommendations or decisions.

    • Prepares associate performance evaluations and administers reviews with support from the DC Merchandise Manager.

    • Maintains required documentation, including time records and production/CP2 records.

    • Assists merchandise processors with paperwork, ticketing issues, and order troubleshooting.

    • Provides the DC Merchandise Manager with updates on production planning, operational needs, and area-specific issues.

    • Performs miscellaneous duties and responsibilities.

    • Participates in and supports special projects as assigned.

    • Attends and assists with planning team-related events and activities.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective organizational and prioritization abilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple shifts and departments.

    EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

    BS degree or two years supervisory experience in a production or merchandising function (preferred)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Consistent timeliness and regular attendance is necessary

    Job requires ability to work in a warehouse environment, on a concrete floor all day

    Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands

    Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically

    Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, talking, hearing (audio equipment), handling objects with hands and lifting to 50 lbs

    Requires continuous, standing, walking, hearing, pushing, and pulling
