Position Summary
The Distribution Center General Manager (GM2) is responsible for leading a high-performing, fully automated distribution center that supports the timely and accurate delivery of auto parts and accessories to Advance Auto Parts retail locations. This highly visible leadership role requires a strategic, hands-on leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale operations, developing talent, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, automated environment.
The GM will oversee a team of approximately 20 managers and up to 300 team members, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and a culture of engagement and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
7-10 years of senior leadership experience in a distribution center or supply chain operations.
Proven experience managing automated facilities and large SKU inventories.
Demonstrated success in leading large teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Red Prairie WMS or similar warehouse management systems.
Familiarity with advanced sorting and handling equipment.
Hands-on experience with warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Willingness to perform and understand all roles within the distribution center.
