Summary:
Location: New York, NY

Responsibilities:
Ensure that all installation, configuration, and tuning of DB2 databases are completed efficiently.
Author and validate procedures for all database processes.
Identify potential issues and deliver modifications/updates for DB2 programs.
Communicate with Tech Support all elements to be migrated with specific instructions for production migration.
Assist Systems areas with tool upgrades and participate in Disaster Recovery drills.
Define and execute database recovery functions and standard database tuning procedures (e.g., runstats, reorgs).
Monitor the health of key database operations (backup/recovery processes, logging, system response times, etc.).
Open and manage tickets logged with IBM to resolution.
Work with application development teams to install and migrate software releases (DB2 tasks) and support execution of data fixes.
Perform DB2 DB troubleshooting during various phases of the work effort.
Design and execute technical tests to ensure software deliveries meet quality and completeness standards.
Perform all system administration activities for the IBM InfoSphere Data Replication product, ensuring high availability.
Requirements:
Experience with IBM DB2 V12 or higher.
Experience working with application teams to build and maintain data propagation solutions using IBM InfoSphere Replication Server.
Experience with CICS transaction server.
Ability to author REXX scripts.
Ability to troubleshoot assembler code.
Installation, configuration, and tuning of new DB2 databases.
Ability to troubleshoot issues with DB2 embedded within COBOL programs.
Ability to perform all database admin duties (backup/recovery, reorgs, DB troubleshooting).
Performance tuning at a DB2 system level or individual SQL statements/procedures.
Knowledge of the Oracle Transparent Gateway product.
Knowledge of DB2 UDB (experience with DB2 connect).
Experience installing and troubleshooting IBM Tivoli LDAP server product running on AIX.
Ability to install and manage DB2 on AIX platforms.
Deep experience with large-scale, enterprise-wide, governmental budget, and accounting solutions.
Experience with IBM IMS database management or higher (preferred), including the ability to perform a checkpoint restore of an IMS database.
Preferred Skills:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, or a related field, along with four years of satisfactory full-time experience in datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, or complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience in the same fields listed above; or
Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
