DAY SHIFT!!! - Press Brake Operator

This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules. Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to form metal parts to specification.

Black Bear Talent is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented CNC Press Brake Operator to support daily metal fabrication operations. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain quality standards while working safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00PM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to form metal parts to specification
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop routers, drawings, and work instructions
• Select proper tooling and materials for each job
• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and scrap records
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and SDS guidelines
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and properly labeled
• Move materials and finished parts between workstations as required
• Monitor tooling and material inventory and communicate needs to purchasing or supervision
• Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiency or quality opportunities
• Assist other departments as workload requires

Equipment & Technical Skills

• CNC press brake setup and operation

• Precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, analog and digital)

• Basic math and dimensional calculations

• Forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment

• Ability to follow manufacturing documentation accurately

Experience with Amada press brakes or similar CNC forming equipment preferred

Safety & Quality Focus

• Consistent adherence to OSHA and company safety standards

• Participation in preventive maintenance programs

• Quality inspection and documentation of production results

• Clear identification and handling of materials and products

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Stand and walk for extended periods (8 to 10 hours per shift)

• Manual dexterity for machine operation and material handling

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous CNC press brake or metal fabrication experience

• Strong blueprint reading skills

• Attention to detail and dependable work habits
