SUMMARY

The Day Group Sales Representative is responsible for coordinating all aspects of Day Group Sales efforts, including, but not limited to the selling of: skiing and snowboarding, water park groups, climbing center & movie nights, tram rides, golf outings, disc golf, college products, etc. Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders for group needs and plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned) Responsible for coordinating all Day Group business segment, including:

  • Booking regional direct day group business.
  • Ticketing of all Day Groups, utilizing ticketing software.
  • Communicates directly with all day groups, up-selling all potential sales opportunities.
  • Attends regional off-site sales efforts for Jay Peak Resort.
  • Promotes smooth implementation of any Day Group needs.
  • Daily and weekly use of the Day Group forecasting templates.
  • Sales of all products offered, across the resort.
  • Communicates with internal stakeholders for group needs and plans.
  • Researches as needed for day group sales efforts.
  • Develops new regional business contacts for day group, off-site, college and water park sales efforts.
  • Answers phone calls to the general sales line on a daily basis.
  • Daily retrieval emails from the general group email account.
  • Participates in weekly team meetings.
  • Works closely with Director of Group Sales to provide bi-weekly sales reports.
  • Works with Director of Group Sales for complete end of season and annual reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Daily use of MSWORD and EXCEL. Must be able to manipulate spreadsheets on a daily basis.
  • Previous experience with a CRM database software a huge plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have valid Driver's License and be able to meet requirements of Jay Peak Resort's automobile insurance policies. Must have the ability to rent vehicles.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to travel long distances, for day or overnight Sales missions.
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of large groups of people.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, during sales shows and meetings, as needed.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make decision within the parameters of the job descriptions a must.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Bilingual (English/French) - a plus. Must have the ability to travel into Canada.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

RESORT CONDITIONS

This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
