Employment type: Full-time W-2
Build the platform. Automate the releases. Help power a federal agency’s data mission.
Your engineering decisions shape how teams deploy, secure, and operate production data systems. In this role, you’ll take ownership of Azure Databricks environments and the automation that moves work reliably from development into production.
Flex Staffing Resources is recruiting for a consulting firm supporting federal data modernization. You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and data scientists to create a platform they can depend on—from initial environment setup through migration, cutover, and ongoing operations.
Build and maintain Azure Databricks environments, including networking, access controls, and secrets management.
Automate deployments and environment promotion using infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
Apply Unity Catalog governance and improve Delta pipeline performance.
Support migrations and production cutovers with consistent environments, rollback plans, and documented release controls.
Create practical runbooks and repeatable operating procedures that make the platform easier to support.
At least four years of platform engineering, DevSecOps, or cloud infrastructure experience.
Hands-on Azure Databricks experience, including Unity Catalog and Delta performance.
Experience automating deployments and supporting production data platforms.
Working knowledge of cloud networking, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
Migration or cutover experience, including rollback planning and release documentation.
Python or Bash scripting and Git-based version control.
Cloud infrastructure experience beyond Databricks itself.
Federal delivery experience and familiarity with government security, access, and review processes.
Strong written communication and proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
Declarative Automation Bundles—formerly Databricks Asset Bundles—Terraform, Azure DevOps pipelines, Databricks or cloud certifications, federal authorization documentation, or experience supporting an IL-5-or-higher accredited system.
You’ll own meaningful technical outcomes while working across platform engineering, security, automation, and federal data modernization.
Your benefits include:
Medical, dental, and vision coverage with employee premiums fully paid and half of dependent premiums covered.
A 401(k) match up to 4% of salary, with immediate vesting.
Unlimited paid time off.
Employer-paid life and disability insurance.
Sponsored professional certifications and continuing education.
Eligibility: U.S. citizenship and the ability to satisfy the engagement’s suitability, security, and access requirements are required.
