Description

Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Database Migration Architect with deep expertise in end-to-end Oracle to Azure SQL/MS SQL migrations. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in automation, replication strategies, performance tuning, and high-availability database solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement OLTP peer-to-peer replication strategies for seamless data synchronization.
  • Architect and optimize data warehouse solutions to align with business intelligence needs.
  • Automate large-scale database migrations to minimize downtime and accelerate transitions.
  • Lead Oracle-to-Azure SQL/MS SQL migrations, ensuring high efficiency and automation.
  • Develop and implement automation frameworks for schema conversion, data migration, and validation.
  • Utilize Oracle GoldenGate, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Python, PowerShell, and SQL for data replication and migration.
  • Perform in-depth Oracle database assessments, covering schemas, stored procedures, PL/SQL, indexes, triggers, partitions, and performance tuning.
  • Convert Oracle PL/SQL to T-SQL, optimizing for performance on the target SQL platform.
  • Use Microsoft DMA, SSMA, Azure DMS, or other proven solutions to streamline migrations.
  • Analyze and mitigate compatibility issues between Oracle and target SQL platforms.
  • Architect scalable, high-availability database solutions in Azure SQL (PaaS) and MS SQL (IaaS/on-prem).
  • Optimize post-migration performance through indexing strategies, partitioning, query tuning, and workload balancing.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and disaster recovery (HA/DR) requirements.
  • Collaborate with application teams to ensure compatibility and minimal downtime.
  • Identify and address risks proactively, providing clear recommendations and roadmaps.
  • Work in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment, proactively driving execution while keeping leadership updated.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Expertise in end-to-end Oracle to Azure SQL/MS SQL migrations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, DMA, SSMA, and Azure DMS.
  • Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, SQL) for schema conversion, data transfer, and validation.
  • Strong skills in performance tuning, replication strategies, and high-availability database solutions in Azure PaaS and on-prem environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in database migration and optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
