The Database Engineer works under the direction of the Project Manager to implement and support IT solutions that sustain and support the customer's organizational missions, with strategic focus on readiness and reliability. The Database Engineer will design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain, test and debug mission critical software source code using software development languages and tools. While the government customer is located at Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, IL., this is a 100% telework position.United States Citizenship Required.


Technical Skills:

  • Well rounded individual capable of performing in fast paced, complex and challenging environment.
  • Strong Experience of Working with Azure SQL Database or MS SQL Database.
  • Strong Experience with Database Scripting including SQL and PL/SQL and ability to write and diagnose issues with stored procedure, and functions, and experience with writing custom ETL routines.
  • Experience with Database performance tuning
  • Experience using web based technologies (ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS)
  • Experience with Azure Platform as a Service
  • Java programming, any C-based language, HTML/JavaScript/JSP, and .Net environment ... all a plus
  • Provides and owns the technical details for implementation of tasks provided.
  • Identifies problem trends and corrective actions and documenting these through modification of existing best practices guidelines.
  • Client interactions to understand the requirements for analysis and design of efficient solutions.
  • Must be able to build application solutions in a collaborative development environment.
  • Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping management informed of project related issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly.
  • Proven strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Proven strong relationship-building and communication skills with team members and business users
  • Must be able to investigate and resolve inquiries and issues.
