Role Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Database Administrator to join our database team. This role is responsible for ensuring application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas adhere to organizational standards. The Database Administrator will assist in designing, developing, modifying, and optimizing database schemas across multiple platforms and computing environments while contributing to overall data architecture and strict security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily operational and database administration activities across DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS database environments.
Plan, design, implement, and support robust database structures to satisfy system requirements.
Conduct database performance monitoring, tuning, and SQL code reviews.
Develop and maintain comprehensive database administration procedures and technical documentation.
Assist with training and mentoring technical team members.
Support broader database or infrastructure management activities as required.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
15 years of combined experience in database administration across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server (2008R2, 2012), and Oracle (10g and above).
Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management, upgrades, catalog maintenance, and sub-system point-in-time recovery.
Advanced knowledge of JCL and in-depth expertise in z/OS integrated platform, ISPF, COBOL, ASG Scheduler, and CA GEN model management/application object support.
Solid working knowledge of Oracle and MSSQL application integration, performance management, and database administration.
Solid working knowledge of z/OS started task management, IBI z/OS service support, AFOPER commands, RACF, CICS, IOF, and technical requirements for Disaster Recovery.
Working knowledge of Windows Servers, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Azure, BJS, and z/OS EXITs.
Proven capabilities in communication, customer service, decision-making, flexibility, leadership, problem-solving, team building, and quality assurance.
Preferred Skills
Experience with integrated database infrastructures in state or public sector agency environments.
Knowledge of integrated financial management applications and complex application environments.
Additional Details
Work Schedule: Requires flexibility to work hours between 7:00 AM & 7:00 PM and/or Saturdays (either on a rotation or as part of a regular and on-call work schedule).
Work Arrangement: Onsite position; telecommuting is not authorized.
