  • Perform schema changes and production database conversions during application upgrades and new version releases, including complete testing for movement from development to production.
  • Monitor, collect, analyze, and report database metrics; establish performance baselines; and adjust resources or database settings to improve performance.
  • Perform daily database operational checks and provide status reports, including detailed end-of-day descriptions of completed work.
  • Analyze and configure databases to address security vulnerabilities, strengthen user and system authentication, and implement approved security products, processes, and procedures.
  • Apply and document Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements, SQL Server hotfixes, vulnerability patches, and service packs.
  • Keep database environments current by evaluating emerging technologies and reviewing, testing, and recommending database software upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable database vendor license agreements.
