Database Administrator (DBA)
Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite2-3 days per week/Hybrid)
Contract Rate: $30.00 - $40.00per hr.
Contract Duration: Up to 3 Years

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the modernization of a large healthcare data environment. This role will take ownership of day-to-day database operations while helping improve database deployment, automation, and version-control practices.
Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain SQL Server databases in an on-premises environment.
  • Manage database backups, restores, cloning processes, and production-to-test data refreshes.
  • Deploy and configure databases on new virtual machines.
  • Administer database permissions, roles, and access controls.
  • Support database reliability, availability, and operational performance.
  • Improve CI/CD processes for database changes and releases.
  • Introduce or enhance database source-control, versioning, and migration practices.
  • Partner with architecture and engineering teams during database and platform modernization efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on SQL Server database administration experience.
  • Experience managing backup, restore, cloning, and environment-refresh processes.
  • Experience administering database security, permissions, and roles.
  • Experience supporting production database environments and operational troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical teams.
  • Experience automating database administration tasks with PowerShell.
  • Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with database migration/versioning tools such as Flyway or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting large, complex, or highly regulated data environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare data or healthcare technology experience.
