The Advanced Database Administrator will perform enterprise database planning, design, administration, monitoring, optimization, and operational support across SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS/spatial database environments. The role requires strong expertise in relational database management, production troubleshooting, performance tuning, SQL code reviews, database design, and support for application enhancements and modernization initiatives.
Perform daily database administration and operational support.
Plan, design, implement, and support enterprise database structures.
Administer SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS/spatial database environments.
Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
Perform database performance analysis and tuning.
Troubleshoot complex enterprise production database issues.
Develop and maintain database administration procedures and technical documentation.
Conduct SQL code reviews and recommend performance improvements.
Support database activities related to application enhancements and application rewrites.
Design and maintain relational database structures.
Develop complex database specifications.
Analyze business processes and workflows to design efficient database solutions.
Support ESRI SDE Geodatabases and ArcGIS environments.
Assist with training and mentoring technical staff.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams.
Ensure database solutions comply with established enterprise standards.
Support enterprise database modernization initiatives.
Evaluate and recommend database performance improvements.
Estimate effort and timelines for database administration and analysis activities.
Assist lower-level database analysts with technical issues.
Support database infrastructure activities as required.
Participate in quality assurance and database validation activities.
Maintain technical standards, procedures, and operational documentation.
Minimum 5 years of combined Database Administration experience.
Expert-level experience with SQL Server 2012 and above.
Strong experience with Oracle 10g and above.
Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).
Experience with relational database architecture, design, and administration.

Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex enterprise database production issues.
Strong understanding of database specifications and data-processing requirements.
Knowledge of ESRI SDE Geodatabases.
Experience with GIS and spatial database concepts.
Ability to design and manage databases according to enterprise standards.
Ability to accurately estimate database administration and analysis tasks.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Azure SQL.
Experience with AWS database and SQL technologies.
Experience administering ArcGIS Server.
Experience with GIS and spatial databases.
Cloud database administration experience.
Database modernization and migration experience.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise production databases.
Proven experience administering enterprise SQL Server and Oracle environments.
Strong knowledge of relational database design principles and best practices.
Ability to work independently on complex production database issues.

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Database Management, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Microsoft SQL Server / Azure Database Certification Preferred
Oracle Database Administrator Certification (OCP) Preferred
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate Preferred
AWS Certified Database Specialty Preferred
Esri Technical Certification Preferred
