Job Description:

As a Database Administrator in this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing both relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance and reliability across platforms such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Your day-to-day work will involve designing robust schemas, tuning queries, and implementing best practices for data storage and retrieval. You will also be tasked with modernizing and consolidating complex data architectures, often leading initiatives to migrate data models and streamline storage solutions. Exposure to distributed data systems and large-scale storage technologies will be essential as you work with tools like Hadoop, HDFS, and Accumulo to support scalable, resilient data environments. 

You will play a key role in safeguarding the integrity and security of data platforms by implementing advanced security protocols, including Kerberos authentication, TLS encryption, and role-based access controls. Your responsibilities will extend to establishing comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies, as well as ensuring observability and operational excellence across all database systems. Experience with distributed systems architecture, data migration, and consolidation projects will be highly valuable, as will a strong understanding of platform reliability and operational best practices. Job Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to support business requirements and performance goals.
• Manage and maintain distributed data systems and large-scale storage technologies, including Hadoop, HDFS, and Accumulo.
• Lead the design, consolidation, and modernization of complex data architectures to ensure scalability and efficiency.
• Oversee and execute data migrations, including data modeling, migration planning, and consolidation activities.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and operational excellence of data platforms by implementing best practices in Kerberos, TLS, RBAC, backup and disaster recovery, and observability.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively optimize systems for maximum uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with organizational objectives and technical requirements.
• Sec + required + 5 yrs experience.
