What You'll Do as a Data Systems Coordinator Supervisor
- Under direct supervision of the Assistant Chief of Central Operations, supervise unit of lower-level coordinators in coordinating office automation projects:
- Oversee the Deputy Technical Services unit by providing management & supervisory guidance for the statewide Deputy Registrar & Business Application Service System (BASS) &/or Driver Examiner (DX) computer networks; Schedule data & network additions, deletions, & improvements with multiple vendors; Provide complex technical & procedural support;
- Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g., provide developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluate performance, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, pre-screen applications & participate in interviews);
- Place, track, & clear service calls to multiple vendors & reporting data network concerns to Law Enforcement Administrative Data System (LEADS) controlling board;
- Collaborate with LEADS network control center to determine network diagnostics; Respond to concerns associated with Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Deputy Registrar Data Network.

Option 1
18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in data processing/computer science (i.e., excludes data entry & keypunch);
AND 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in computer hardware/software systems;
AND 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in microcomputer, minicomputer &/or mainframe application programs;
AND 1 course or 3 mos. trg. in operation of computer terminal & peripheral equipment (e.g., printers, modems, bursters, disk & tape drives).

- Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science/electronic data processing.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
