Position Summary:
The Data Analyst supports the Title III project by collecting, managing, and analyzing institutional and project-level data. This role is essential to evaluating project outcomes and informing data-driven decision-making that enhances student success and institutional effectiveness.
The position is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and therefore contingent on the renewal of the award. Although the position is paid with federal funds, the individual will be governed by University of Charleston policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and analyze data relevant to Title III project goals and institutional performance.
- Manage databases and ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Generate clear, actionable reports and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research to align data practices and reporting standards.
- Support ongoing evaluation of project outcomes and contribute to grant reporting requirements.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, or a related field required, master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in a higher education or grant-funded environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, R, Python, or Tableau.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
