We are seeking a skilled Senior Microsoft Purview Data Protection Engineer to help protect and govern enterprise data across our hybrid environment. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing data security solutions using Microsoft Purview and Azure technologies.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage Microsoft Purview solutions including:
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Microsoft Information Protection (MIP)
- Sensitivity Labels
- Insider Risk Management
- eDiscovery
- Develop and enforce data governance and protection policies across Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoints, and SaaS platforms.
- Monitor and improve data protection controls, compliance posture, and risk management.
- Investigate and respond to data security incidents.
- Automate security and compliance processes using PowerShell.
- Partner with security, legal, compliance, and business teams to implement data protection best practices.
- Mentor team members and support ongoing security initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of cybersecurity or information security experience.
- 3+ years focused on data protection, governance, or compliance technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, DLP, MIP, and data classification.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure security and data protection.
- PowerShell scripting experience preferred.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and ISO 27001.
- Microsoft SC-400 certification preferred.
