    We are partnering with a leading systematic investment manager to hire a Data Scientist to join a highly visible, front-office data team that sits at the center of the firm's research and investment platform.

    This is not a traditional business-focused data science role. Instead, you'll work at the intersection of data engineering, quantitative research, and systematic investing, partnering directly with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to source, evaluate, and deliver datasets that drive investment decisions and live trading strategies.

    The team is responsible for onboarding, analyzing, and maintaining market, fundamental, and alternative datasets used across a wide range of systematic investment strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to own high-value data products that have a direct impact on alpha generation and research outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Source, evaluate, and onboard new market, fundamental, and alternative datasets
    • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing frameworks
    • Clean, normalize, and enrich large structured datasets
    • Create derived datasets and research-ready features for investment teams
    • Develop automated data quality monitoring and validation processes
    • Partner directly with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to understand and deliver data requirements
    • Perform exploratory analysis to assess the value and usability of new datasets
    • Collaborate with external vendors and data providers
    • Improve the firm's data infrastructure using modern technologies and tooling
    • Ensure strong standards around data quality, lineage, governance, and reliability

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, quantitative data, or a related field
    • Strong Python and SQL skills
    • Experience working with large-scale structured datasets
    • Strong understanding of data quality, data modeling, and data lineage principles
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work closely with both technical and business stakeholders
