Data Scientist (REMOTE :: W2 ONLY)

Ability to facilitate conversations with business owners and stakeholders to understand the problem, rapidly iterate proposed solutions, and clearly present new findings and solutions. Programming skills in statistical languages such as R, Python, and database query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig; familiarity with Scala, Java, or C++ is a plus.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field and 5+ years of data and analytics experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Programming skills in statistical languages such as R, Python, and database query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig; familiarity with Scala, Java, or C++ is a plus
• Strong applied statistical skills including statistical tests, distributions, regression, and maximum likelihood estimators
• Knowledge of machine learning methods such as k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests
• Strong math skills including multivariable calculus and linear algebra
• Data wrangling proficiency
• Experience with data visualization tools such as matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js, Power BI, or Tableau
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong software engineering background
• Hands-on experience with data science tools
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Analytical mindset and strong business sense
