    • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field, plus two (2) years of experience in data analysis or data management
    • Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field, plus five (5) years of experience in data analysis or data management
    • Seven (7) years of experience in data analysis or data management.

    Disclaimer - "Accredited" means any nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or law school where the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Juris Doctorate degree program.

    SELECTION REQUIREMENT: This position requires applicants to complete an interview which includes a skills assessment. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected for hire.

    Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

    • A Master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field.
    • Previous professional experience creating, managing, or using databases and database software.
    • Previous professional experience in a role or field related to statistical analysis and modeling.
    • Previous professional experience requiring the collection, analysis, and written summarization of quantitative and/or qualitative data.
    • Previous professional experience creating data visualizations.
    • Previous professional experience working with data management tools such as R, Tableau, Python, SPSS or Proficiency working with SQL
    • Knowledge of and experience with applied data science in the context of criminal justice, policing, or public policy.

    Residency Requirement: All employees of the City must be actual residents of the City as outlined in 2-152-050 of the City Chicago Municipal Code. Proof of residency will be required.

    APPLICATION EVALUATION: Initial evaluation will be based on information provided on the application and the documents submitted. The Department of Human Resource staff will review applications after the final posting date. Staff will follow any and all required Employment/Hiring Plan provisions, federal, state and local laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreements when applicable.
