    Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Associate Attorney

    Location: Washington, DC

    Experience Level: 2–3 Years

    An AmLaw 50 firm is seeking a junior Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Associate to join its nationally recognized Cyber/Privacy team.. This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside experienced practitioners advising clients through high-stakes cybersecurity incidents, data breach investigations, privacy matters, and crisis management issues across a wide range of industries.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in cybersecurity, privacy, or incident response matters, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Advise clients on cybersecurity incidents, data breach investigations, and incident response matters.

    • Assist clients in navigating privacy and data security obligations under applicable state, federal, and international laws.

    • Support crisis management efforts during cybersecurity and privacy incidents, coordinating legal strategy with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, notifications, and other client-facing materials related to privacy and cybersecurity matters.

    • Work collaboratively with attorneys across multiple practice areas to provide strategic, business-focused legal counsel.

    • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, privacy regulations, and industry best practices.

    Qualifications

    • 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, data privacy, incident response, breach investigations, crisis management, or a related practice area.

    • Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

    • Background or experience in information security, computer science, or other technical disciplines is preferred but not required.

    • Excellent academic credentials.

    • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

    • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar.
