Job Title: Data Platform Architect
Location: Harrisburg, PA – Hybrid (1 day per week onsite)
Duration: 4 months

Job Description
We are seeking a Data Platform Architect to lead the design, engineering, and continuous evolution of enterprise data platforms. This is a technical leadership role focused on building reusable, secure, cloud-based data products and shared platform services that support digital services, data analytics, and AI initiatives across multiple business units.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Define the target architecture and multi-year roadmap for the enterprise data platform.
• Design and implement scalable cloud data platform architecture.
• Build MVP capabilities and continuously evolve them into production-grade enterprise services.
• Establish platform engineering standards, development practices, and operational guardrails.
• Implement secure multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Design and implement IAM, RBAC, encryption, auditing, and other security controls.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent technologies.
• Implement modern DevSecOps and shift-left security practices.
• Partner with CISO and GRC teams to integrate security controls into data platforms.
• Develop reusable platform services and standardized agency/team onboarding patterns.
• Support enterprise data products, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Establish data platform governance, security, reliability, and scalability standards.
• Collaborate with cloud, data, integration, security, and enterprise architecture teams.
• Drive modernization initiatives and ensure alignment across multiple programs.
• Provide technical leadership and influence architecture decisions across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale cloud data platforms.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in modern data architecture, platform engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise cloud security controls.
• Strong experience with IAM and RBAC.
• Proven experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Strong experience implementing DevSecOps practices and shift-left security.
• Experience partnering with Cloud Engineering, CISO, and GRC teams.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Experience building enterprise-level platforms supporting multiple teams or business units.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, automation, and operational standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Programming, or equivalent education/experience.
