    Position Description:

    CGI Federal is seeking a Mid-Level Data Migration Engineer to support data extraction, transformation, validation, and movement activities for a large-scale federal modernization program. This role works within the Migration Workstream to support ETL pipelines, data mapping, cleansing, transformation, and operational readiness for transferring high volume datasets from legacy systems into secure cloud environments. The ideal candidate has hands on experience with structured and unstructured datasets, migration tooling, data integrity checks, and cross team data operations.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    Data Migration & ETL Execution

    • Support development and operation of ETL workflows for large scale data migration efforts.
    • Execute data extraction, transformation, cleansing, normalization, and validation tasks.
    • Conduct detailed data mapping from legacy systems to target schemas and environments.
    • Operate within established migration pipelines and support automation improvements.

    Data Quality & Validation

    • Perform data integrity checks, completeness assessments, and error resolution.
    • Support quality assurance activities for migrated datasets, ensuring accuracy and fidelity.
    • Assist in documenting data issues, anomalies, and corrective measures.

    Technical Collaboration

    • Work closely with Senior Data Migration Engineers, Data Engineers, DevSecOps teams, QA engineers, and cloud architects.
    • Support migration readiness by validating source/target environments and testing pipeline functionality.
    • Participate in technical reviews, test cycles, and data validation checkpoints.

    Operational Support & Reporting

    • Maintain documentation of migration steps, ETL processes, schemas, and pipeline behaviors.
    • Contribute to migration reporting, progress updates, and operational status summaries.
    • Identify risks, blockers, and dependency issues impacting migration throughput.

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

    • Must have Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
    • U.S. Citizenship.
    • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience supporting data migration, ETL processes, or data engineering workloads.
    • Experience with structured/unstructured data, mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation.
    • Familiarity with ETL tools, scripting languages, or pipeline automation methods.
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in fast paced technical environments.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with large-scale or multi system migration efforts.
    • Hands on experience with cloud-based data pipelines (AWS preferred).
    • Exposure to DevSecOps environments, automated testing, or CI/CD pipelines.
    • Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or national security programs.

    Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.
