Integration Developer Lead
Hybrid | Minimal Travel to Tysons, VA | 3+ Month Contract
iSphere is looking for an Integration Developer Lead for a major Automation Modernization program with a Retail Energy client. This is a senior technical role for someone who has spent years designing enterprise integrations in Azure and is comfortable making architecture decisions that affect a lot more than one application.
There are roughly 15 to 20 business-critical platforms involved, including customer, billing, pricing, forecasting, payments, analytics, and other core systems. The goal is to create a cleaner, more scalable integration environment using Microsoft Azure instead of continuing to add one-off connections every time somebody needs two systems to talk to each other.
You will lead the integration architecture and help establish the API, messaging, event-driven, security, and cloud standards the teams will follow. You will also work directly with Solution Architects, Data Architects, Business Analysts, developers, and outside vendors to make sure those standards actually work in the real environment.
This is not an architect role where you hand someone a diagram and disappear. You need to be technical enough to get into the details, help solve problems, guide developers, review designs, and keep the integration work moving.
What we need:
10+ years of software development and enterprise integration experience
5+ years designing Azure-based integration solutions
Strong experience with Azure API Management
Strong experience with Azure Service Bus
Strong experience with Azure Data Factory
Experience designing event-driven architectures and enterprise messaging solutions
Strong REST API and integration design experience
Java Spring Boot microservices experience
Experience with Azure AD, Key Vault, RBAC, and secure cloud integration practices
Experience leading technical teams and providing architecture and design direction
Ability to work comfortably with both technical teams and business stakeholders
Retail Energy, Energy, or Utilities experience would be very helpful. Experience integrating customer, CRM, billing, pricing, forecasting, payment, or analytics platforms would be even better.
Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus, along with experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
The role is hybrid with possible minimal travel to Tysons, Virginia. Any travel required for the assignment would be unpaid, so we want candidates to understand that upfront.
We are looking for someone who has already been through a large modernization effort and knows where integration projects tend to get ugly. You should be able to see those problems coming, make good technical decisions early, and help a large group of people build toward the same solution instead of each team creating its own version of one.
