Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Data Architect to support the execution and evolution of a growing Data Governance and Data Quality program within a complex, matrixed healthcare organization.
This role sits at the intersection of data governance, analytics, and business translation. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience working in a mature data governance environment and can translate technical data concepts into clear, actionable business outcomes that drive data trust across the enterprise.
This is a single-contractor role focused on execution, enablement, and adoption—not net-new strategy creation.

- Operationalize data governance and data quality practices
- Enable stewardship, remediation, and adoption through clear documentation and cataloging
- Translate governance standards into the culture of the organization
Core Responsibilities
Data Governance & Data Quality
- Execute and support established data governance and data quality frameworks
- Define, document, and operationalize data quality rules, remediation workflows, and stewardship processes
- Partner with technical teams to ensure governance policies are realistically implementable
- Support the translation of legal, regulatory, and governance standards into practical data policies
Data Catalog & Metadata Enablement
- Lead and support data catalog adoption, including:
- Business definitions
- Technical metadata alignment
- KPI documentation
- Stewardship workflows
- Serve as a key connector between technical assets and business meaning
- Champion "what good looks like” by applying lessons from mature governance organizations
Business & Technical Translation
- Act as a quasi business–technical translator between:
- Data engineers
- Analytics teams
- Governance stakeholders
- Business users
- Create clear, business-facing documentation that drives understanding and adoption
- Support analytics and reporting teams by ensuring governed, trusted data assets
Analytics & Enablement Support
- Enable governance-aligned analytics consumption across BI platforms
- Support governance controls and standards as the organization transitions toward Power BI
- Provide light analytics insight to help leadership understand governance adoption and impact
Requirements:- Strong experience with Alation or Collibra data catalog
- EHR or EPIC experience preferred
- Understanding of Power BI
