Interview Mode: Both Web Cam and In Person InterviewJob Description:The Data Governance Analyst will support the implementation of an agency-wide Enterprise Data Governance Program. The role will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Business Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineers, Project Teams, and Information Security.
The position focuses on establishing trusted and governed enterprise data supporting both operational and analytical use cases, with data being ingested into an AWS Data Platform and consumed through Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities- Support implementation of the Enterprise Data Governance Program.
- Facilitate governance workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
- Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to establish governance for enterprise datasets.
- Develop and maintain governance policies, standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Create and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and the Enterprise Business Glossary.
- Define and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and business rules.
- Perform data profiling, reconciliation, validation, and data quality analysis.
- Define and monitor data quality rules, metrics, and trends.
- Document business and technical data lineage and end-to-end data flows.
- Support governance across Bronze, Silver, Gold, ODS, and ADS data layers.
- Support enterprise datasets published to Snowflake.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers supporting Python-based AWS data pipelines.
- Support data classification, retention, Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), and internal data sharing.
- Prepare governance dashboards, executive presentations, reports, and recommendations.
- Communicate governance requirements to both business and technical teams.
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Business Analysis, Metadata Management, or related disciplines.
- 10+ years of experience with Data Analysis.
- 10+ years of experience with Data Lineage / Data Cataloging.
- 10+ years of experience creating Data Policies and Procedures.
- 10+ years of strong SQL experience.
- 10+ years of Data Warehouse experience.
- 10+ years of Requirements Elicitation experience.
- 7+ years of experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Snowflake.
- Experience implementing enterprise Data Governance programs.
- Experience facilitating governance workshops.
- Experience with metadata, business glossaries, and data dictionaries.
- Experience defining business rules and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
- Experience with data profiling, reconciliation, and validation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
