Data Engineer - Bernards, NJ - Contract - $37-47 Per HR
Join our team in Bernards, NJ, as a Data Engineer on a contract basis. You'll design and maintain data catalog structures, ensuring data is organized and accessible. This role involves working with various data technologies and collaborating with stakeholders to enforce standards and policies.
Description
- Design and configure catalog structures to organize data across various platforms.
- Curate and enrich metadata to make data assets discoverable and trustworthy.
- Build and maintain semantic layers, taxonomies, and ontologies.
- Automate metadata ingestion and tagging pipelines.
- Partner with stakeholders to define and enforce cataloging standards and policies.
- Support data quality and profiling initiatives.
- Monitor catalog health and resolve metadata gaps or inconsistencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain catalog structures for data organization.
- Curate and enrich metadata for discoverability and trustworthiness.
- Automate metadata ingestion and tagging processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enforce data standards and policies.
- Monitor and resolve catalog health issues.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in data engineering, data governance, or metadata management.
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python for automation.
- Familiarity with metadata management concepts and data governance principles.
- Experience with APIs and automation tools for metadata ingestion.
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
