Data Engineer - Bernards, NJ - Contract - $23-33 per HR
This role is based in Bernards, NJ, and requires onsite presence. It is a contract position with opportunities for W2 or C2C engagement. The position involves organizing and managing data across various platforms, ensuring data assets are discoverable and reliable, and utilizing generic data technologies.
Description
- Design and maintain data catalog structures for efficient data organization.
- Enhance metadata to ensure data assets are discoverable and trustworthy.
- Develop semantic layers and taxonomies to support data search and AI use cases.
- Automate metadata ingestion and tagging processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data cataloging standards.
- Support data quality initiatives and resolve metadata inconsistencies.
- Document processes and provide training on catalog usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure catalog structures for data organization.
- Curate metadata to enhance data discoverability and trustworthiness.
- Build semantic layers and taxonomies for natural-language search.
- Automate metadata ingestion using appropriate tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enforce data standards.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in data engineering or metadata management.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python for automation.
- Familiarity with metadata management concepts and data governance.
- Experience with APIs and automation tools for metadata ingestion.
- Understanding of data governance and compliance principles.
