Overview
System One has partnered with a well-known, local to Oklahoma organization that is hiring a Data Engineer for a direct-hire, fully onsite role in Tulsa, OK. In this position, you’ll design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and enterprise data warehouse solutions that enable analytics and reporting across the business. You’ll work with modern cloud data tools—primarily Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Python—and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data products. This role also includes participation in production support (24x7 rotation as needed) and opportunities to help mentor junior engineers. This position is only open to U.S Citizens or Green card holders at this time. System One will not accept corp-to-corp candidates at this time.


Responsibilities

  • Write, modify, extend, and debug data pipelines based on Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Connect to diverse data sources and perform data analysis to determine data suitability.
  • Develop automated data pipelines to extract, cleanse, and transform data for business use.
  • Automate processes to consolidate data from multiple sources into a single source of truth.
  • Develop automated data quality monitoring and alert processes.
  • Model and publish data sets for user access through reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Adhere to company's standards and best practices.
  • Have extensive knowledge of development tools and environments utilized by the company.
  • May act as a Product Technical Owner, accountable for the product’s technological performance, strategic adherence, and technical requirements.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and coordinate efforts across development teams.
  • Accept guidance from architecture, infrastructure, and development teams; act as the primary voice on technology-related decisions.
  • Lead trouble-shooting efforts and call “war rooms” when necessary.
  • Act as Scrum Master when appropriate.


Technical Support

  • Resolve technical issues with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, following established support processes.
  • Analyze incoming issues, determine root causes, and develop solutions to minimize reoccurrences.
  • Document customer issues and resolutions, report trends, and develop support documentation.
  • Gather and forward customer feedback for product improvements.
  • Provide support on a 24x7 basis.


Position Specifications

  • Required education: High school graduate or equivalent, plus college or technical courses in programming languages or data tools.
  • Required experience: 3-5 years’ experience in programming data solutions.
  • Required skills: Proficient in one or more of the data technologies or languages, good problem-solving skills, familiarity with IT concepts and practices, strong communication and time management skills.
