DPP is seeking a
Data Engineer for an opportunity with our client, a leading global investment firm.
Work location: Onsite in Dallas, TX
Duration: 6 months
Terms: W2 contract
Position description:- The Data Engineer will support the technical execution of a large-scale system migration.
- This role will focus on the data engineering side to build out infrastructure and support other efforts as needed such as project coordination, data validation, and stakeholder alignment.
- A successful candidate must have recent relevant mortgage data experience.
Key responsibilities:- Design, build, and maintain cloud-native data pipelines and data lake architectures (Snowflake) to support ABF investment and portfolio analytics
- Develop and manage scalable ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and curate data from structured and unstructured sources
- Support analytics and reporting use cases, including data reconciliation, validation, and financial data integrity checks
- Support the migration from legacy systems to a modern data platform, including data mapping, transformation logic, and architecture alignment
- Contribute to light project management activities, including:
- Breaking down work into Epics/User Stories (Jira)
- Supporting project planning, timelines, and coordination across teams
- Assisting with testing, cutover planning, and go-live readiness
Skills:- Demonstrated experience in solving complex data problems with strong proficiency in:
- 5+ years of advanced SQL experience with common table expressions (CTEs), complex window functions, conditional logic, joins, aggregations etc.
- Data cleaning, de-duplication, reconciliation, etc.
- 5+ years of professional Python development to process complex datasets efficiently, process automations using Polars, Pandas or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering, including building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and workflow
- Industry expertise in ABF and mortgage servicing – settlements, remittances/cash consolidation, servicing workflows, etc.
- Good communication skills and change management abilities – align stakeholders and ensure operational readiness of new platform
- Product/Program Management – experience leading a full lifecycle project including driving requirements, design, build, testing, cutover planning, and go-live execution
Education: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
