Data Engineer

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Data Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining the organization's AWS-based data platform. The Data Engineer will also focus on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of data pipelines, implementing architectural improvements, and collaborating with business intelligence teams to meet analytical needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain the AWS-based data platform, including Amazon Redshift environments.
• Architect and manage data pipelines using dbt, AWS Lambda, and Python scripting.
• Oversee AWS infrastructure, including S3, Glue, Step Functions, and IAM.
• Monitor and improve pipeline health and system performance through CloudWatch and related tools.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and infrastructure incidents, ensuring data integrity.
• Manage technical ingestion and loading of Oracle Hyperion accounting data.
• Maintain documentation, data flow diagrams, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with business intelligence managers to fulfill reporting and analytics requirements.
• Recommend architectural improvements and introduce new AWS services or automations.

Qualifications:

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS analytics stack, including Redshift, dbt, and AWS Lambda.
• Proficient in Python scripting and familiar with AWS services such as S3 and Glue.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT architecture.
• Experience designing cost-efficient and secure cloud environments.
• Ability to manage infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience with version control and infrastructure-as-code practices is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a lean environment and translate business priorities into technical execution.
• Experience in restaurant, retail, or multi-unit business environments is a plus, but not required.
