Job Title: Data Center Technician
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite) - Pref Local
Duration: 12 Months
Client: Tech
Shift: Night Shift, 8:00 PM 7:00 AM; 4 days per week with a 1-hour lunch break. Working days: Sunday Wednesday or Wednesday Saturday.
Rate: Maximum $36/hr on W2, No benefits
Years of Experience: 2+ Years
Mandatory Skills:
Hands-on data center experience with rack and stack, server cabling, iLO/iDRAC configuration, and replacement of hardware components such as RAM and CPUs.
Basic administration knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems.
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Collaborate with network administrators to troubleshoot server-related issues, including cable replacement or rerouting, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
Rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to support remote configuration and validation.
Provide hands-on support for ad hoc server and network switch requests.
Coordinate replacement hardware procurement, installation, and return shipment of defective components.
Perform server and network device cabling according to approved wiring diagrams and validate connectivity with network administrators.
Diagnose and troubleshoot server issues in coordination with remote network and system administrators.
Perform server firmware upgrades and configure server IP addresses and default access credentials according to standard procedures.
Conduct physical inspections and inventory audits of servers, components, and consumables.
