Job Summary
As a Data Center Technician, you will provide hands-on support for a mission-critical data center environment, ensuring the reliable operation of infrastructure that supports essential technology services. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center equipment, including servers, racks, cabling, and supporting facility systems.
You will assist with equipment staging, inventory management, and day-to-day operations, while also responding to incidents and service requests to help restore normal operations. The position works closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to deliver consistent, high-quality data center services.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in Saint Paul, Minnesota with the option to telework occasionally. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT related experience in data center operations, infrastructure support, or enterprise hardware environments.
Experience must include:
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and using ladders.
