Data Architect
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to help design and support a growing enterprise data environment. This role will play a key part in the next phase of the organization's data warehouse strategy including integrating new systems, improving data models, and establishing strong data governance practices. The Data Architect will work closely with the Data Team, business stakeholders, and Leadership to build scalable data solutions across Azure and on-premises environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise data architecture across Azure and on-premises SQL Server environments.
- Support the continued development and expansion of the enterprise data warehouse.
- Design data models that support reporting, analytics, AI, and business needs.
- Integrate new applications and data sources into the data warehouse.
- Develop and support data governance standards and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to use AI within the organization's data environment.
- Partner with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand data needs and develop solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts and recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Help establish scalable standards for data architecture as the organization's data capabilities grow.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a similar data-focused role.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Extensive experience with on-premises SQL Server.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouses.
- Extensive data modeling experience.
- Experience with data governance concepts and practices.
- Experience working with AI technologies or AI-focused data initiatives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a broader Data team.
Preferred
- Microsoft Fabric experience.
This is a 6-month Contract-to-hire opportunity with our Lenexa, KS client.
