ABOUT THE ROLEA financial services organization is seeking a technically capable, hands-on data professional who can work across business requirements, analytics, programming, and technology initiatives. This role requires someone who can independently investigate business problems, translate requirements into practical data solutions, and contribute to reporting, automation, and internal technology projects.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and will bring strong SQL skills, programming experience, and a resourceful approach to solving ambiguous problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, operational processes, and underlying business questions.
- Translate business requirements into meaningful analyses, reporting solutions, dashboards, and data-driven recommendations.
- Use SQL and Python to extract, transform, analyze, and validate data.
- Apply Python and/or Java development skills to support data automation and technology initiatives.
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, exceptions, business drivers, and areas requiring further investigation.
- Own projects through the full lifecycle, from requirements gathering through development and delivery.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the efficiency of data workflows.
- Contribute to data pipelines, internal tools, APIs, and other technology-enabled solutions.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards independently.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business users to resolve data and process issues.
- Turn complex or ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable data solutions.
- Support additional analytics, development, and technology projects as business needs evolve.
QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, software development, or a related field;internships do not count toward required experience.
- Mandarin language proficiency required.
- Strong SQL skills with demonstrated analytical capabilities.
- Hands-on programming experience with Python and/or Java.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, or other data-driven solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership with limited direction.
- Comfortable operating across both business and technical environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders at varying technical levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities.
- Master's degree in a quantitative, technical, business, or related discipline preferred.
