Data Analyst - Mid

The Mid-level Data Analyst will support survey and program data analysis, recurring/ad hoc reporting, data quality, system data support, charts/graphs/tables, and analysis of DES and SCAADL program performance. Assist with system data support activities, including drafting system change requests, supporting user acceptance testing, and identifying opportunities to improve system capabilities and performance.

Summary:

The Mid-level Data Analyst will support survey and program data analysis, recurring/ad hoc reporting, data quality, system data support, charts/graphs/tables, and analysis of DES and SCAADL program performance.

 

Personnel are assigned in support of DHHQ in Falls Church, VA, but may work from the contractor facility or remotely when authorized.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop, refine, and generate recurring and ad hoc reports using approved data analysis and reporting software to analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
• Analyze DES and SCAADL program data to identify performance trends, population changes, timeliness, process outcomes, quality measures, and other program metrics.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports in accordance with established program requirements and deadlines.
• Develop clear and accurate charts, graphs, tables, and statistical visualizations appropriate to the type and complexity of the data, including scatter plots and other advanced visualizations when appropriate.
• Prepare draft DES performance reports addressing population changes, phase and stage timeliness, process outcomes, special interest metrics, and other required measures.
• Prepare draft SCAADL performance reports and analyze historical enrollment and participation data to identify trends and support program reporting.
• Maintain and update the SCAADL Microsoft Access database and compile data received from Military Departments for analysis and reporting.
• Analyze program data and reporting results and provide recommendations for process improvements based on identified trends and findings.
• Support IDES satisfaction survey activities by gathering survey outcomes, analyzing results, and preparing reports, graphs, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Assist with the development and modification of MEB, PEB, and Personnel survey instruments and related survey documentation.
• Pull MEB and PEB cohorts from the Veteran’s Tracking Application (VTA) and review data for accuracy, completeness, and survey eligibility.
• Monitor data quality in program-related systems, identify data errors, and assist with tracking and resolving data quality issues.
• Assist with system data support activities, including drafting system change requests, supporting user acceptance testing, and identifying opportunities to improve system capabilities and performance.
• Assist with developing and maintaining business process documentation, reporting procedures, and user guidance for program-related systems and processes.
• Coordinate with Government personnel and other stakeholders to obtain, validate, and clarify data and reporting requirements.
• Provide other support as needed.

Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and one or more analytical/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Access, R, Python, or similar
• Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, information systems, business analytics, computer science, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, statistical analysis, or reporting
• Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources
• Experience developing reports, charts, graphs, tables, and data visualizations
• Experience performing data validation and identifying data-quality issues
• Tier 1/non-sensitive, with the applicable DHA background investigation and suitability requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills): 

• Federal, DoD, DHA, healthcare, or military personnel data experience preferred

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
