DAS-Technician

Candidate will be working primarily in a central office which is a structure used by telecommunications companies to house equipment needed to direct and process telephone calls and data traffic (Telephone Central Offices (CO's) are also known as telephone switching centers, wire centers or telephone exchanges). Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) because of installation or engineering activities.

As a DAS Technician, you are responsible for reading and interpreting the proper installation specifications for various construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

 

Responsibilities:

As a DAS Technician, you are responsible for overseeing all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. 

 

In addition, you will:

• Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment 
• Identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding 
• Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and accurate equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
• Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) because of installation or engineering activities
• Review installation specifications

• You have entry-level or 1 year of technical experience
• You have a High School diploma or equivalent GED

• You have excellent communication skills; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; demonstrate group presentation skills
• You have the ability to learn time management while working on customer sites
• You possess dependability; follow instructions, respond to management direction; keep commitments
• Experience in handling power tools
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
• Must be willing and available to travel away from home for several weeks at a time (up to 75%)

Compensation of $20-$35 per hour, depending on the experience.
