Telnet Inc. is seeking a DAS Technician Level 1 to support the installation, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Small Cell, and BTS equipment at client sites. This is a hands-on field position requiring strong technical, communication, documentation, and customer service skills. The role involves working with coax and fiber cabling and may require travel of up to 25% for remote projects.
Install, swap, retrofit, and troubleshoot DAS, Small Cell, and BTS systems.
Install and route coaxial and fiber cabling.
Perform coax cable connectorization and cable termination.
Install, mount, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and cabling.
Interpret design drawings and translate them into daily installation requirements.
Test and troubleshoot new and existing systems, equipment, and cabling.
Work in attics, crawl spaces, offices, and other construction environments.
Follow job safety requirements and assist with JHA, incident reports, and safety plans.
Maintain accurate installation and service documentation.
Collaborate with construction and installation teams and share best practices.
Maintain strong customer service and professional communication at client locations.
Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and after-hours when required.
Travel up to approximately 25% for project assignments.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of telecom installation or hands-on construction experience preferred.
Hands-on experience with telecommunications, cabling, networking, or infrastructure installation.
Experience with coax cable connections/connectorization preferred.
Knowledge of fiber optic cabling and termination is a plus.
Ability to read and understand design drawings and installation plans.
Strong cable termination and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and at least 1 year of driving experience.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening.
Willingness to travel up to 25% and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
Physical Requirements
Comfortable working at heights and using step/extension ladders.
Ability to walk, crawl, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to lift and handle at least 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, construction sites, and office environments.
