Job Title:                    Damage Claims Coordinator

 

Department:              Business Operations

Reports To:                Jamie Woods, Claims Manager

FLSA Status              Exempt

 

           

Job Summary:

Provides resolution to customers as well as GW Communications on all damage claims. With emphasis on the ability to handle difficult customers through resolution, while maintaining a professional, positive attitude.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with Subcontractors and markets to bring claims to resolution
  • Track and provide status and resolutions on all damage claims
  • Handles customer calls with professionalism and efficiency
  • Follow up with resolutions to previous or completed claims
  • Handle residential, commercial and various other claims from our customers
  • Handle compensation requests made by our customers and claimants
  • Communicate and prepare written responses to customers that are professional, respectful, and protect our company from present and/or future liability
  • Maintain current knowledge of GW Communication Solutions policy & procedures
  • Research projects to provide details on all damage claims and linked activities
  • Assists all offices in providing resolution on customers damage claims
  • Consults with Construction Managers, Directors, Risk and Legal Departments when necessary to resolve an issue or when advice is needed to resolve
  • Schedules and conducts conference calls weekly on all damage claims received
  • Handles all correspondence to damage claim team, which also includes contacting claimants for claim resolution
  • Provides weekly details to the corporate team and local management of damage claims
  • Process insurance claims

  •  1 to 2 years of experience dealing with customers on a professional level
  •  Thorough knowledge of construction in the telecommunications industry
  •  Ability to multi-task
  •  Ability to effectively communicate with both supervisors and customers
  • Pass a background check, pre-employment drug testing and random drug screening

 

Education/Experience Required:    

Associate Degree preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) considered with related experience and/or training.

 

Computer Skills                                          

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

 

Language Skills                                           

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
