Job Description:
Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment.

Position Responsibilities:
•Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
•Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
•Use precision calibrated tools –torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
•Perform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
•Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
•Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
•Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
•Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
•Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
•More than 3 years of experience reading blueprints, working with manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes
•Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
•Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
•More than 3 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies
•More than 3 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
•More than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
•More than 3 years of experience with soldering
•More than 5 years of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.G. Avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
•More than 3 years of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
•More than 3 years of experience working in a Clean Room environment
•More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
•Currently hold a IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
•More than 3 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems

Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.G. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years'related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.G. Vocational school/Associate+2 years'related work, Bachelor, etc.).
