The MITRE Corporation's All-Domain Integration (ADI) Department (N174) partners with the Department of the Air Force to accelerate the delivery of integrated command-and-control capabilities. Through expertise in mission engineering, systems integration, systems engineering, architecture, modeling and simulation, operational analysis, and artificial intelligence, MITRE provides independent technical leadership supporting advanced operational capabilities.
The ADI Department is seeking a Task Lead for the Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) project for the DAF Integrated Fires Command and Control (DIFC2) task. The DIFC2 Task Lead will serve as the primary interface between the sponsor, stakeholders, and technical teams. This leader will oversee the MITRE team and drive the integration of cutting-edge solutions into modern C2 and Battle Management architectures. This critical mission support role demands an active TS/SCI clearance, strong relational leadership, an understanding of intelligence community operations and software development.
Key Functions
Team Management:
Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and task execution, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Mentor, guide, and task-manage a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, system architects, and subject matter experts.
Proactively identify program risks, technical bottlenecks, and operational limitations, formulating swift mitigation strategies to keep the mission on track.
Mission & Technical Leadership:
Lead and synchronize technical tasks supporting the design, development, and integration of software-intensive systems for the ABMS DIFC2 portfolio.
Translate complex operational requirements from the warfighter into actionable software development plans and engineering tasks.
Lead domain expertise in Command and Control (C2) and Battle Management systems to guide modern cloud, data, and software architecture decisions.
Establish synergies among external stakeholders, such as other ABMS branches/product lines, Department of War (DoW) services, agencies, and Command, Control, Communication, and Battle Management (C3BM) programs to develop a comprehensive DIFC2 system-of-systems architecture
Sponsor & Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the government sponsor, delivering regular progress briefings, managing expectations, and aligning project execution with strategic mission goals.
Build, maintain, and leverage trusted relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders, including military service branches, joint organizations, civil servants, and industrial contractors.
Facilitate collaborative working groups and technical exchange meetings to resolve complex integration challenges and drive consensus.
