Cytology Manager - Austin, Texas - Permanent and Full-Time Hire

• There is NO screening only processing which means they’ll be on the bench sometimes (sometimes Cytologists want to do screening so please screen this out).

• High volume: We process 70K cytology samples annually (300-500/day)

The Cytology Manager overseeing all operational aspects to maintain high standards in workflow, compliance, and quality assurance. As the person working just underneath the general supervisor, the manager will be managing 2-4 people and will need to know the entire processes of the lab; Accessioning to Processing, Receiving and all the day to day functions; sending specimens to SSF (learning/knowing this process); overseeing Archiving processes. They will also fill in on the bench as needed.

Shift: Days

Required: BA/BS degree; BS in chemical, physical, or biological science, or Cytotechnology preferred.
Required: 5+ years of experience in a cytology or clinical laboratory; prior experience leading teams preferred.
Required: ASCP certification; Preferred Cytologist, CT(ASCP) certification.
