Job Title -Cybersecurity Senior Support Technician (Grant Funded) Supervisor: Director of Technology, Assistant Director of Information Technology Job Goals:
To manage user accounts, manage account privileges, and monitor access for unauthorized or improper access.
To systematically and accurately inspect, isolate, and diagnose cybersecurity threats related to identity management.
To efficiently monitor and maintain the IAM (Identity Access Management) system.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of technology related work experience.
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
Knowledge of multiple computer operating systems and applications.
Ability and willingness to obtain technology certifications related to job goals.
Ability to troubleshoot technology issues/products using best practices.
Written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; agility and dexterity needed to stoop, bend, lift/move equipment (computers and/or peripherals, etc.) when necessary and to perform technical equipment inspections and/or repairs, including the inspection of cabling in floors and ceilings.
Ability and willingness to work after hours, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
Implements plans for replacing and upgrading school system and local school computer hardware and software.
Provides users with efficient, effective, courteous and timely technical support.
Performs bulk imaging of equipment/machines as needed.
Manages accurate parts and equipment inventories in accordance with school system financial procedures.
Works with instructional technology team to implement plans for technology upgrades and deployments.
Create, modify, delete and manage end-user / system accounts and security groups in the identity and access management system as directed.
Investigate cybersecurity incidents and report and respond to events in real time.
Granting of users access to shared folders, drives and applications in accordance with district procedures.
Performs the duties of helpdesk ticket completion in a timely manner, including ticket resolution and communication to the end users submitting the helpdesk tickets.
Monitors network traffic to identify suspicious activity.
Reports and logs investigations of suspicious activity.
Analyze log files, audit trails and security dashboards to detect and respond to potential threats.
Serves as a liaison between the technology department and the local school representative(s).
Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
Models and maintains high ethical standards.
Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
Participates successfully in training programs, professional development, or other learning to increase skill and proficiency related to job performance and leadership.
Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner.
Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintains tools, equipment, and parts in good repair; efficiently uses time and system resources.
Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws.
Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
