CLASSIFICATION TITLE
CYBERSECURITY OPERATIONS ANALYST
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of the Cybersecurity Operations Analyst is to design and manage information security solutions, summarize trends, and develop and implement processes and procedures to protect Clayton Countys information assets and systems. This position reports to the Network Security Engineer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. All duties may not be performed in all departments. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Develops and documents technical security procedures and protocols.
- Identifies new security practices or trends. Employee also conducts periodic security reviews/audits. Duties include monitoring and analyzing network traffic and works to identify intrusions or security breaches.
- Serves as the first level escalation of response in the case of security breaches and infractions; escalate issues immediately to the Network Security Engineer and work with the appropriate team members to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Works with Department stakeholders, Network Infrastructure teams, IT leadership, and other appropriate personnel.
- Conducts periodic security reviews/audits to ensure security measures are functioning properly and continue to meet security policies. Occasionally provide on-call support for off-hour security breaches, system monitoring, and other security incidents and works with Department stakeholders, Infrastructure teams, and IT leadership to implement a practical, scalable, and secure model for County applications, networks, and services.
- Ensures authorized access to all systems.

- Identifies new security practices or trends and works with Infrastructure and IT Security teams to determine their applicability and effectiveness. Conducts periodic security reviews/audits to ensure security measures are functioning properly and continue to meet security policies.
- Monitors and analyzes network traffic and works to identify intrusions or security breaches and performs penetration tests to detect system intrusions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field supplemented by 2 years of Security Management Experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia drivers license.
- Must provide and maintain a personal vehicle to use to conduct official county business, which may include after-hours return trips.

Physical Ability
Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in moderate work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of heavy weight (50-100 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades, colors, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as traffic hazards.
