As the Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll be the hands-on owner of day-to-day cybersecurity across our Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. Where you’ll work…

This position is based at Palermo's headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

You'll split your time between the office, manufacturing facilities, and warehouse operations while partnering with Information Technology, Engineering, Operations, and executive leadership to strengthen cybersecurity and infrastructure across the enterprise.

What You’ll Do…

Most of your time goes to hands-on execution. A smaller portion goes to program work: policies, tabletop exercises, and planning future enhancements. This role has no direct reports.

Responsibilities Include

• Writing security policies, running tabletop exercises, and planning enhancements aligned to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Securing the plant floor through IT to OT segmentation, OT asset inventory, and secure vendor remote access.
• Designing hardened configuration standards for servers, network, and backup systems, and implementing them with the infrastructure team.
• Hardening identity, endpoint, email, network, and cloud security across Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
• Leading security incident response during business hours and managing our managed detection and response partner.
• Running vulnerability management end to end: scan, prioritize, remediate, verify, and report.
• Managing the security awareness platform and training Pizzaiolos from the office to the plant floor.

What You’ll Bring…

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Five to ten years of experience in network, server, or systems administration or engineering.
• Two or more years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, such as security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, or identity and endpoint security.
• Working knowledge of a security framework such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISA/IEC 62443.
• Strong skills in Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and networking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing, food production, or other industrial environments.
• Experience securing Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
• Experience with Hyper-V, Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Azure, and managed detection and response services.
• Experience using Claude or similar AI tools to drive productivity and enhanced output.
• Professional certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GICSP, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, CCNA, CISSP, or equivalent.
