    About the Role

    Merci Technologies is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst III to support a mission-critical engagement for one of our enterprise clients. In this role, you will serve as a senior member of the security operations team, responsible for threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management across a complex hybrid environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or equivalent) and lead investigation of escalated incidents
    • Conduct threat hunting, root cause analysis, and forensic investigations across endpoint, network, and cloud environments
    • Develop and refine detection rules, playbooks, and response procedures to improve SOC efficiency
    • Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with infrastructure and application teams
    • Support compliance activities related to NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, or CMMC frameworks
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security risks and recommend mitigating controls
    • Produce executive-ready reports and documentation on security posture, incidents, and remediation status
    • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge base development

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in a SOC, MSSP, or enterprise security environment
    • Proficiency with SIEM, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms
    • Strong understanding of network protocols, firewall architecture, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
    • Experience with incident response lifecycle and digital forensics
    • Familiarity with security frameworks: MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Controls
    • One or more active certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting federal or regulated industry clients
    • Scripting skills in Python or PowerShell for automation and analysis
    • Familiarity with SOAR platforms and automation workflows
