    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a Computer Systems Security Analyst 3 to support secure operating systems, networks, databases, and enterprise security initiatives.

    The successful candidate will provide security analysis, risk assessment, project/program management support, data analysis, and leadership across internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of information technology security, network architecture, cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, and operational planning.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and database solutions.
    • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and provide recommendations for application and system designs.
    • Analyze security architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
    • Apply encryption technologies and security controls.
    • Perform penetration testing and vulnerability analysis.
    • Conduct information technology security research and analysis.
    • Prepare security reports and technical documentation as required.
    • Analyze operational objectives, project plans, risks, budgets, and staffing requirements.
    • Support labor resource management and operational scheduling.
    • Analyze business and program performance data.
    • Prepare regular briefings and presentations for management.
    • Lead internal and external meetings with program teams, customers, stakeholders, and support organizations.
    • Build effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Coach and mentor team members to develop organizational capabilities.
    • Support project and program management activities.
    • Use Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
    • Identify operational risks and recommend corrective solutions.
    • Maintain reliable attendance and consistently meet operational commitments.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree + 5 years of experience, OR
    • Master's degree + 3 years of experience, OR
    • Ph.D. + 0 years of experience.
    • A relevant professional certification may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
    • Strong cybersecurity and information technology background.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership.
    • Ability to work effectively across organizational teams.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
    • Ability to lead meetings and briefings.
    • Ability to coach and mentor others.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
    • Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
    • Ability to work onsite in Newport News, VA.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Project Management / Program Management experience.
    • Program Office experience.
    • EVM-based cost analysis.
    • Labor resource management.
    • Operational scheduling.
    • Budget and manpower analysis.
    • PMP certification.
    • Six Sigma certification.
    • Experience preparing management briefings.
    • Experience working with customers and executive leadership.
    • Experience managing operational objectives and project tasks.
