Description

Helping clients protect people, assets, and critical operations requires a practical approach to physical security and resilience. As a Physical Security Consultant, you will support clients in assessing risk, strengthening protective measures, and advancing mission assurance across facilities, infrastructure, and operations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to physical security assessments, operational resilience initiatives, and integrated protection strategies while working across multidisciplinary teams and client environments.

Work you'll do

As a Physical Security Consultant on the Cyber Defense & Resilience team, you will be responsible for…

  • Supporting physical security assessments, threat and vulnerability analyses, and risk evaluations across client facilities, infrastructure, and operations
  • Participating in site visits, facility walkdowns, field observations, and stakeholder interviews to identify vulnerabilities and document security requirements
  • Assisting with project delivery activities, including project planning, schedule tracking, budget support, risk management, and client deliverable development
  • Supporting initiatives involving physical access control, video surveillance, perimeter security, integrated security platforms, and security operations center processes
  • Preparing risk assessments, technical reports, presentations, and other materials that inform client decision-making and operational resilience planning

The team

Deloitte's Cyber Defense & Resilience team helps organizations address physical security, operational resilience, and mission assurance challenges across critical facilities, assets, and operations. Practitioners on this team assess vulnerabilities, evaluate protective measures, and help clients develop integrated strategies that support safety, continuity, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, risk management, emergency management, criminal justice, international relations, intelligence studies, engineering, homeland security, public administration, or infrastructure protection, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: physical security assessments; threat, vulnerability, or risk assessments; risk analysis; global security operations center (GSOC) activities or GSOC technology; physical security technology; video management systems (VMS); access control systems (ACS); risk intelligence; mass communication systems; or incident case management and dispatching systems
  • Experience supporting project schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, budgets, vendors, and deliverables
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Professional certification such as Associate Protection Professional (APP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Project Management Professional (PMP), ISO 31000 Risk Manager, ISO 22301, or Certified Threat Manager (CTM)
  • Experience supporting physical security, resilience, or mission assurance programs in critical infrastructure, utilities, government, defense, transportation, manufacturing, research, laboratory, healthcare, technology, military, or law enforcement environments
  • Experience integrating physical security, safety, emergency management, cyber-physical security, and operational risk management programs
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with perimeter security, protective design principles, critical infrastructure dependencies, resilience analytics, facial recognition or facial analytics, or defense-in-depth strategies
  • Experience with budget tracking, schedule management, risk mitigation, vendor management, or quality management

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $82,600 to $162,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
