• Lead, develop, and supervise the Inspection Team to ensure consistent execution of quality standards and inspection processes.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes and industry specifications.
• Collaborate with division leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction
• Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and develop, implement, and monitor corrective and preventative action plans.
• Manage initial welder training and qualification program.
• Maintain, administer, and continuously improve the Vulcraft of New York Quality Management System (QMS).
• Track and analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk reduction.
• Conduct jobsite visits to evaluate and resolve quality-related issues.
• Infrequent travel is required, including travel within the United States and Canada
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Base annual salary ranges from $117,000–$139,000, depending on experience, training, and education. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation, including a division-based ROA bonus (up to 33% of base salary), enterprise profit-sharing (10-year average of 15% in cash and 401(k) contributions).
Minimum Qualifications:• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• 2 years experience in: welding, weld inspection, weld engineering, or manufacturing quality control
• Prior leadership experience
• CWB Supervisor or Weld Engineer
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint or the desire and ability to obtain computer skills quickly
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
